A Weekend Off

Me and my favorite Sara!

Boy oh boy! Well, this weekend was a success! Thomas took Brenner to go looking for shed Elk antlers. My sister in law, Sara, came to visit and we had a BLAST! Movies, restaurants, shopping, Wii, wine, coffee, donuts and lots of girly gab!

Thomas' 6 point Elk shed.

Daddy and his boy!

Thomas had a great weekend, too. He found a six point elk shed and... wait for it... a 90 year old man who had been stranded in the woods for four days. The man is from Tacoma and was expected for breakfast one morning but never showed. Somehow he went hours from home, got his vehicle stuck in the woods and was alone for four days with no food and no water. 90 YEARS OLD!!! Thomas saved his life! Rescue personnel came and took him to the hospital, and it seems he is well on his way to recovery. We found an article online about the man going missing, but it hasn't been updated yet to say that he has been found. Check it out here: http://blogs.thenewstribune.com/crime/2009/05/22/90_year_old_roy_man_missing_since_tuesda#comments

Deuce Deuce

Referrals were made, so we've moved up a few spots! Yay for progress!! It seems that referrals generally come in bunches, so there may have been even more made that people haven't accepted yet, which would mean we could be moving up a few more spots. This is really happening!

Clothies

Okay, mamas! If you haven't tried cloth diapers, you HAVE to! They are AWESOME! Now, I'm not talking your grandma's cloth diapers. No. Now they are adorable, lots of different colors, cute as can be on your babies buns. And, wait for it... they velcro! No more folding and pinning. On and off just like a disposable, but at a fraction of the cost. We started using cloth diapers just after our boy turned one, and oh, how I wish we had discovered them earlier. Now that Brenner is almost potty trained, I am looking forward to doing clothies with our youngest. His little butt will be so cute in these things! Ask me questions about them, or check them out here: http://nickisdiapers.com/catalog.php?category=592 Seriously, if you do this, you will not regret it. It's one of my favorite things we've done with Brenner!

If you...

If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep, you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.

If you woke up this morning with more health than illness, you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.

If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation, you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.

If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death, you are more blessed than 3 million people in the world.

If your parents are still alive and still married, you are very rare, even in the united states.

If you can read this, you are more blessed than over 2 billion people in the world who cannot read at all.

If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful, you are blessed because the majority can but most do not.

(I recieved this in an email last year, and slightly edited it to fit my purposes. I don't know how accurate the statistics are, but I think it is something to consider.)

We found out today that we are number twenty five on the wait list... that's so much higher than we expected! Apparently about a bajillion people received referrals last month, so the wait list was shortened. Things seem to be moving along quite nicely!! Be praying for our son, wherever and whoever he is! HOW EXCITING!
