Big Helper

Brenner is an awesome big brother. (Well, most of the time.) He's a big helper to mommy and LOVES his baby brother. What a sweet boy!

Tuppens the Birds

I took Brenner and Jackson to feed the ducks the other day. This was Jackson's first time feeding the ducks, probably his first time even seeing a duck! It was a beautiful day for being outside, and we all enjoyed soaking up the sunshine. Brenner and Jackson had a blast with the ducks, and I loved the time with my boys.

The Name Change

So, many of you were asking why we changed baby's name from Berynger to Jackson.

Well, we originally wanted to name him Bear. After we had decided that Bear was the name, we had a few people confront us (and not in a very friendly way) about how wrong it was to name him Bear, all because of the color of his skin. So after that we decided that we would name him Berynger (because it means courageous as a bear) and then we'd just call him Bear as a nickname. We named him Berynger so that we could defend ourselves if anyone else got on our backs about naming a black child Bear. So, you see, Berynger was never the name we REALLY wanted for him. After being home for two months and NEVER once calling him Berynger we decided that it was wrong to give him a name just for defense purposes. Plus, no one could figure out how to spell it or how to say it. I don't want him to have to deal with that for the rest of his life. And anyway, Bear was always just a nickname, and we can call him that no matter what his formal name is.

Plus, he just looks like a Jackson!

We decided to change Berynger's name. I know... we've been calling him Bear for two months now, but we're changing it anyway! His new name is Jackson. LOVE IT!

Easter

Our Easter was pretty good... could have been better if Thomas was with us. He had to miss Bear's first Easter, and worse, his first holiday home with us. Thomas had to work in Lakewood, and I had a baby shower in Spokane on Easter weekend. Bummer. :(

Brenner had an egg hunt in the morning, then we all went to church, came home for naps and went out for a family dinner. Over all, it was a good Easter. By far the best part was the boys' adorable matching Easter outfits!

Happy Easter!
